About Us

Our Mission

The mission of Startups Ventura County (SVC) is to ignite innovations and facilitate the launch of scalable technology startups in Ventura County.

Our strategy is to create a highly collaborative environment for innovation amongst entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, universities, corporations and government agencies, and to do so with a focus on two industries of local importance, agriculture and healthcare.

Our Story

Startups Ventura County (SVC), formerly known as Startup Weekend Ventura County (SWVC), was initiated by Ventura County Government, Camarillo Chamber of Commerce and Dignity Health St. Johns Hospitals in 2015. SVC is truly a collaborative effort between the private and the public sectors. We believe entrepreneurialism is key to economic vitality and technology startups is the path to create high paying jobs. Our goal is to make Ventura County one of the best performing cities in the nation.
